On March 2nd, 20 Chick-fil-A Support Center Staff members volunteered at the Midwest Food Bank in Peachtree City, GA. They spent the day sorting donations into boxes to serve families. In total, staff members packaged more than one ton of food – a proud feat for one day’s worth of volunteering.
Specifically, the team packaged bulk dried black and red beans. In addition to the bulk items, they sorted other non-food donations received by the Midwest Food Bank. These contributions included, personal hygiene products, vitamins, toys and first aid supplies. Once these items were sorted appropriately, the volunteers then packed a balanced variety of these elements into boxes for families in need. Boxes will go to clients in Peachtree City and others cities surrounding Atlanta.
Afterwards, they regrouped to sort through blankets donated by Delta Air Lines, organizing them in catagories of suitable and unsuitable. Suitable blankets will be given to the Salvation Army for disaster relief supplies. Those that were deemed unsuitable were donated to animal shelters throughout Georgia.
