As part of our employee onboarding process here at Chick-fil-A, we find it important to introduce new staff members to the day-to-day operations of each department in the company. We call these classes “The Business.”. During this time, new Chick-fil-A staff have the opportunity to learn from leaders of several departments across the company, the role their team plays in building the Brand. For the Foundation, we like to take this time to discuss how the Foundation supports the business and engage new staff members in our employee volunteerism program through a hands-on “giving back” project.
In April, our newest staff members took part in their first community service project with the Foundation on behalf of Operation Gratitude – an organization that aims to lift the spirits of veterans by providing them with care packages and hand-written personal notes of appreciation. Staff members wrote thank you letters to over 70 U.S. service men and women who have served, or are currently serving the U.S military. It was an educational and inspiring day for new and seasoned employees alike.
This was the first, but certainly not the last service project our new staff will participate in as part of the Chick-fil-A family!
